Your Regional Dairy Group

DAGs works to ensure there are good communication channels within the region so the dairy industry it represents is cohesive and well informed and that there are opportunities for dairy farmers to meet at field days, farm tours, discussion groups, seminars or meetings. 

The DAGs region covers the following local government areas: Gloucester, Great Lakes, Greater Taree, Hastings/Port Macquarie and Kempsey.

The majority of the dairies are family owned businesses and operate on an all year round calving basis with many utilising an annual ryegrass pasture feedbase. Milk from the region mostly goes into the NSW fresh milk market. The region has 6 different processors now operating in the area: Murray Goulburn, Norco, Woolworths, Hastings Co-op, National Foods and Parmalat.
